A son of rural Wales, growing up in the seaside town of Ogmore-by-Sea, Dan Bettridge is an artist whose output defies rigid classification. Over the last 5 years, Bettridge has made a name for himself with his skilled songwriting and distinctive vocal style. Having also ghost written for artists across many genres, from pop to folk to EDM, his body of work is an unexampled amalgamation of classics and modern contemporary sounds.
His debut release - the stripped-back, beautiful Hunter’s Heart EP – was embraced by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 and Dermot O’Leary on BBC Radio 2, showing an immediate ability to engage listeners across the tastemaker and classic spectrum. Following multiple sessions at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios and supporting the likes of Band of Horses on their UK tour, Bettridge released new singles Heavenly Father and Blame in 2017.
Bettridge’s debut album was released in a truly distinctive fashion in Waves of four songs at a time - Asking for Trouble (Wave One), Asking for Trouble (Wave Two) & Asking for Trouble (Wave Three). Bettridge said “I thought the songs deserved to be met with no distraction. It’s me saying ‘I think I did it - take a look at these 4 songs at a time’." The full album Asking for Trouble was subsequently released on July 6th 2018 to critical acclaim.
Dan continues to work on new material and collaborate with artists from across the globe. His newest single, Hollywood Forever was released digitally on June 7th 2019 and has been met with a tremendously positive response. Dan has new music set to be released from October 2019, continuing into early 2020. The next couple of years are set to bring some very big changes for this unique and talented young artist.
